Video 📹; Nanyangwe header wins it for Buffaloes 

Striker Natasha Nanyangwe came off the bench to score the winner as Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club edged University of Western Cape in the opening match of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League|COSAFA Qualifiers. 

Nanyangwe just needed two minutes after being introduced for Malawian forward Vanessa Chikupila to make a difference. 

The former Green Eagles forward leaped highest to head home, Agnes Phiri’s well taken corner kick to win it for the Zambian Champions. 

Green Buffaloes will return to action on Saturday when they face Namibian side Ongos FC who suffered a 3-1 loss to Herentals Queens of Zimbabwe. 

The overall winner of the 10-day tournament will book a place at the CAF Women’s  Champions League’s ultimate continental finals, joining Mamelodi Sundowns who  did not participate in the qualifiers as they had already secured their finals’ slot by virtue of being defending Champions.
