Valley Queens- The Pride of Mfuwe

Valley Queens is a rising and determined women’s team based in Mfuwe, Eastern Province and it was established 10 months ago and carries its day-to-day activities through the help of the community and well-wishers who have the passion to support women football.

Valley Queens is among the 10 teams that are registered and competing in the 2020/21 FAZ Women’s League under Eastern Province and it is led by Coach Kezias Chikwete and Oliseh Chulu.

Over the past weekend, Queens of the Valley led by team captain Mary Mwanza had an away tie in Chipata against seasoned campaigners in the FAZ Eastern Women’s League Kanjala Queens who they thrashed 3-0 at their backyard in a Week 1 encounter of the 2020/21 FAZ Women’s League played at Hillside Girls Secondary School Grounds.

Queen Mvula scored a brace for Valley Queens while captain Fantastic Mary Mwanza also registered herself on the scoresheet to make it 3-0.

The FAZ Women’s League Eastern Province enters Week 2 this weekend and the Queens of the Valley will have a tricky tie when they play host to Panza Queens at Domondo Stadium in Mfuwe.

Panza Queens are coming from an excellent 6-1 home victory over Chadiza Council Queens and they will be relying on the talented young and speedy player Mary Tembo who scored 4 goals for the Army Ladies who will be coming from Gonda Barracks in Chipata in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.

The Pride of Mfuwe will hope to use the home ground advantage and support from its community as they aim to overcome a stubborn Panza side who will have all to play for in this match.
