Vaccine hesitancy irks Mwanajiti

By Arnold Tutu-A political analyst and human rights defender NGANDE MWANAJITI says people should stop confusing rights with duties and responsibility in the wake of the Covid-10 pandemic.

Mr. MWANAJITI says opting not to vaccinate based on erroneous information is not only troubling but a negation of civic duty.

He however observes that though it is not possible to compel anyone to be vaccinated without their consent, Zambians must see the COVID challenge as a National crisis as opposed to be a sectarian drive.

Mr. MWANAJITI has since called for a systematic and methodical process of engagement given the abundant pro and anti information that has been doing the rounds for a while.

In a statement to ZNBC News, Mr. MWANAJITI further called on traditional leaders, civil society organisations, the Youth and Church Leaders to seize the opportunity to engage with each other so that the government burden on Covid-19 is eased.

He added that from a civic point of view, it is disturbing when health facilities are overwhelmed with Covid-19 patients owing to unhelpful conduct of citizens.
