US threat against Zambia should not be taken lightly – Banda

People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) President, Andyford Banda says the threat by the United States to review its bilateral ties with Zambia following the sending back of Zimbabwe’s opposition leader Tendai Biti should not be taken lightly.

Mr. Banda says Zambia cannot afford to strain its relationship with the US government.

He states that Zambia should deal with any potential threat to its bilateral ties with the United States considering that it’s one of the donor countries that provides support to the country especially in the healthy sector.

Mr. Banda notes that ordinary Zambians are the one who will suffer the consequences of any damage in relations with the United States.

He has since implored the government to seek audience with the US government in order to amicably resolve the matter.
