UPND LOSES WARD SEAT, AS COUNCILLOR QUITS

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) Tumvwangani ward Councillor in Solwezi Kyapalushi Kapatamoyo has resigned as councilor from the opposition party.
This is contained in a letter obtained by the Daily Nation dated  September 10, 2018 and addressed to the mayor Mr Nicholas Mukumbi.
Ms Kapatamoyo said she decided to resign for personal reasons.
“I councillor Kyapalushi Kapatamoyo   for Tumvwangani ward hereby notify your office that I have with immediate effect resigned as Ward Councillor based on personal reasons,” the letter read in part.
She stated that she will no longer actively participate in politics and ceased to be a member of any political party and further disassociated herself from any political party.
Ms Kapatamoyo was the only female councillor in the Solwezi Municipal Council after being elected in the August 2016 general elections.
And when contacted  Solwezi mayor Nicholas Mukumbi confirmed the development.
“Yes, i’m in receipt of the resignation letter for Tumvwanganai ward councillor madam Kyapalushi Kapatamoyo,” Mr Mukumbi said.
