Upcoming parliamentary and local government by-elections campaigns going on peacefully

THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has advised all stakeholders in the upcoming parliamentary and local government by-elections to desist from destabilizing restraining citizens from exercising their rights to vote.
In a statement, ECZ Public Relations Manager Margaret Chimanse encouraged all electoral stakeholders in the Mangango parliamentary and six other local government by-elections to campaign peacefully.
Meanwhile Chimanse said the campaign schedule endorsed by the political parties in Mangango can be amended with the agreement of all parties.
She urged political parties, members of the public, civil society organizations, and stakeholders to verify facts before spreading any information.
“It is essential for the democratic dispensation of this country that stakeholders desist from destabilizing governance processes that exist which provide for citizens to exercise their right to make choices of their leaders,” said Chimanse.
