UNZA Students Ponder Revolt Over Meal Allowances

UNZATrouble is brewing at the University of Zambia with students threatening to again take to the Great East Road if they are not paid outstanding allowances by Friday.

Barely a month after re-opening, the students are contemplating a collision path with government who closed the institution for two months following riots of February 2.

The students were a fortnight ago paid their meal allowances with the accommodation and project allowances pending.

However, with the institution heading for a midterm break the students have run out of patience and are threatening to demonstrate.

The University of Zambia revised calendar indicates that students will be writing their midyear exams.
