UNDER 16 BOYS: ZAMBIA 3-1 AZERBAIJAN

By Wilson Mulinda:

The Zambia Under 16 national football team has beaten Azerbaijan by 3 goals to 1 in their second UEFA International Development Tournament.

JORAM KAPOWA opened the scoring for Zambia before EDWARD MWALE made it 2 nil  in the 26th minute.

MUSA MAMMADOV pulled one back for Azerbaijan 2 minutes later taking the tie to halftime at 2-1 score line.

KAPOWA got his brace in the 72nd minute to confirm the win for the junior Chipolopolo.

ZAMBIA will be confirmed tournament winners if hosts Georgia fail to beat Azerbaijan in their final match on Monday.

Speaking after the match, Man of the Match KAPOWA said it was team work that got the win for Zambia.

KAPOWA said the team deserved the victory because they worked on the mistakes from their previous tie.

And Under 16 Coach AARON KAWANGU said he will continue to rotate the team as he observes the performance of the boys.

KAWANGU said the boys are working well together and have the potential to advance as a whole to Under 17 level.
