By Jonathan Mukuka:Zambia National Service -ZNS – has intercepted and impounded Seven trucks at Nakonde border in Muchinga Province laden with bags of maize which were about to be smuggled into the neighbouring Tanzania.Nakonde District Commissioner Field Simwinga has confirmed the development in an interview with ZANIS in Nakonde.Mr. Simwinga said the trucks were intercepted near Vilaule farms using an illegal route passing through the bush about Six Kilometers from the border.The Nakonde District Commissioner who praised ZNS officers for being vigilant, said five drivers have since been arrested while two managed to escape leaving behind their trucks.Mr. Simwinga said the Seven trucks now parked at ZAMESCO dry port are from Chinsali, Isoka, and Chama in Muchinga Province, Senga and Mbala in Northern province, respectively.
