By JAJAH COULIBALY –

VARIOUS artistes from Lusaka and the Copperbelt on Saturday joined hands in raising voter awareness by staging a concert at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) aimed at motivating young and newly registered voters to go out and vote.
The project which is called Triple V is backed by a coalition of civil society organisations working in governance issues aimed at addressing voter apathy in Zambia.
Among the artistes was president Barrack Obama’s favourite Zambian artiste B flow, Kantu, Jassy boy and Drimz.
Mubanga Chewe, aged 19 said he was going to vote since he has realised the importance of voting as it was a franchise.
The OYDC was packed with hundreds of youths who mimed to songs their
favourite artistes were performing.
This project with the theme ‘My vote, My choice, My victory” will be going on in all 10 provinces to raise awareness to young people who will be voting for the first time to stand up and vote.
