January 18, 2020January 18, 202012By Patricia Banda:Tourism and Arts Permanent Secretary Auxilia Ponga says Government appreciates the exchange of cultures between Zambia and Egypt.Dr. Ponga says the two countries have enjoyed cultural relations since 2018.She says this is evident by many visits of Egyptian Artists to Zambia.Dr. Ponga was speaking in Lusaka during the launch of a book on Zambian short stories translated into Arabic at the Egyptian Embassy.And Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia Ahmed Mostafa said the translation of Zambian short stories into Arabic will help sell the books in Arabic countries.Meanwhile, Salwa Elhamamsy, wife of Egyptian Ambassador to Zambia who helped in the translation of the book from English to Arabic said it is important for African writers to tell their stories.Meanwhile, President of the Zambian Federation of Authors and Artists Antony Lupeke paid tribute to the Embassy for supporting the works of the Zambian writers.
