TOURISM AGENCY HOSTS GERMAN JOURNALISTS

Zambia Tourism Agency Senior Marketing Manager Doris Koffi says there is need for Zambia to have Travel and Tourism journalists to further market the tourism industry.
Ms. Koffi says specializing in travel tourism will allow journalists have an in-depth understanding of the sector thereby promoting tourism in Zambia.
She said this last evening when Zambia Tourism Agency in conjunction with the Kavango Zambezi Trans Frontier Conservation Area KAZA TFCA hosted ten journalists from Germany in Livingstone.
And Ms. Koffi said the ten journalists that have been drawn from various media organizations in Germany will generate stories from the ten days they spend in various tourism destinations in the region.
She said the journalists are expected to write stories about tourism in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Angola which in turn will increase visitations from Europe.
And the Kavango Zambezi Trans Frontier Conservation Area Executive Director Nyambe Nyambe said it is projected that the Okavango and Zambezi River Basins will dry up by 2050 because of climatic change.
Dr. Nyambe said it is important for the region to start reflecting on what needs to be done to promote adaptation for economic resilience, livelihoods and biodiversity.
