TIPICO BUNDESLIGA

The Austrian government gave a green light on Tuesday morning for the continuation of Austria’s top division the tipico Bundesliga.

The announcement was made by Health Minister Rudolf Anschober and Sports Minister Werner Kogler at a joint press conference with league board member Christian Ebenbauer also in attendance.

In today’s meeting, the clubs agreed that the remaining ten games comprising master and qualification groups will be finished with only English rounds by July 5.

This will be followed by the three-game Europa League play-off, where the last international starting position will be decided. The master group will play on Sundays and Wednesdays while those in the qualifying round on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

The play-off semi-finals are scheduled for July 8th and the two finals are scheduled for July 11th and 15th.

The games will be played without the fans as confirmed by league board member Christian Ebenbauer but he is hopeful the fans will return to the stadiums soon.

Ghost games are an emergency plan and harm clubs financially. But we still have to pick up the ball and start again. And we hope that we can watch football with the spectators in the stadium again as soon as possible

The players, coaches, and other relevant officials will undergo PCR tests every week and in the event of an infection, only the person concerned has to be quarantined.

Furthermore, there will be no handshakes on the pitch and the goal celebrations should not take place with hugs and other caresses.
