By ZANIS:Ministry of General Education Permanent Secretary Jobbicks Kalumba has called for a radical transformation in the country’s education system that will inculcate critical thinking among learners.Dr. Kalumba says time has come for the country to introduce a new education curriculum that is practical and useful for personal as well as national development. He says there is need for an education system that will allow learners to concentrate only on subjects that are applicable to their prospective careers, as this will improve the quality of pupils graduating from schools.Dr. Kalumba said this when he addressed Kasama based teachers drawn from various schools and education officials at Kasama Girls’ Secondary School.Speaking earlier, Provincial Education Officer Grace Sinkolongo said her office is engaging all stakeholders to improve examination results and education standards.
