Lusaka, Zambia24 (17-06-2024) – Adil Patel, a medical student at Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ), has been elected Vice President of the International Association of Student Surgical Societies (IASSS) in Zambia. As the Academic Secretary of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at TAUZ, Patel expressed excitement and commitment to fostering the development of aspiring surgeons.
In his new role, Patel emphasized his dedication to supporting students who aim to pursue careers in surgery. He hinted at his own aspirations to become a surgeon. The announcement of Patel’s election was met with congratulations from the university’s leadership.
Prof. Ajay Poddar, Vice Chancellor of Texila American University Zambia, and Dr. Balamurugan Easwaran, Deputy Vice Chancellor, both commended Patel for his achievement. They expressed pride in the university’s students, noting that their participation in leadership roles within various student organizations reflects the institution’s success in cultivating future leaders.
