Tech Hubs to be established in Itezhi-Tezhi, Chisamba,Chongwe

Government has partnered with ZICTA , the United Nations  and other stakeholders in setting up Information and Communication Technology – ICT- Hubs in three districts of the country.

The hubs will be established in Itezhi-Tezhi, Chisamba and Chongwe Districts.

Acting Technology and Science Minister CORNELIUS MWEETWA says access to Information and Communication Technologies in rural areas is still limited.

Mr. MWEETWA says this is especially true for girls and women who are faced with barriers in accessing education and technology.

This is was in a speech read on his behalf by Acting Director Planning VICTOR KACHABE, during the launch of an ICT Hub for women and girls in Chisamba District.

And, ZICTA Director General CHOOLWE NALUBAMBA said the hub has been equipped with 21 modern computers, internet connectivity and software applications that are key to the needs of rural communities.
