TEACHING SERVICE COMMISSION WARNS

The Teaching Service Commission -TSC- has warned Civil servants not to get involved in politics as the country heads towards the August 12 general election.

Speaking in Solwezi district during the official opening of Human Resource Management Committees -HRMCs- training and orientation workshop, Commission Chairperson Stanley M’hango said the newly appointed committees are mandated to be non-partisan.

Mr. M’hango further called on the HRMCs to perform their duties in a professional and ethical manner.

He said failure by the HRMCs to adhere to the set standards will result in the commission withdrawing delegated human resource functions within the teaching service.

Meanwhile, North Western province Deputy Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Chihili said the formation of HRMCs will enhance service delivery in the public service.

And Teaching Council of Zambia -TCZ- register Ebby Mubanga warned school owners and administrators to ensure they engage teachers who are qualified and registered.

Dr Mubanga said the council will not entertain school administrators who do not abide by the terms and regulations of the Council when employing.
