TEACHING FRATERNITY TIPPED

By Angela Limwanya:Ministry of General Education Permanent Secretary Jobbicks Kalumba has called on the teaching fraternity to support initiatives by government aimed at transforming the education sector.Dr. Kalumba says reforms that government is insisting on will improve the welfare of both the teachers and the learners.He was speaking in Livingstone during the official opening of the 13th Annual General Conference for the Basic Education Teachers Union of Zambia-BETUZ where he was representing General Education Minister David Mabumba.Dr. Kalumba also assured teacher unions that government wants to work with all the teachers in the country because they are key to National Development.Speaking at the same event, BETUZ President Felix Wakyembe called on government to institute measures that will stabilize the kwacha, for teachers to find some form of relief within their limited resources.
