TEACHER PRACTICE CERTIFICATE FEES SLASHED

The Ministry of Education has reduced all teachers practicing certificate license fees by 15 percent.

Educations Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA says this was after recommendations by the Teaching Council of Zambia-TCZ- Council Board to review the fees.

Mr. SYAKALIMA is hopeful that the development will facilitate easy renewal of teacher practicing licenses for the next cycle until 2024.

He urged all teachers to register and renew their practicing licenses to avoid being visited by the law.

Mr. SYAKALIMA told journalists at a press briefing that government is aware of some teachers who have deliberately neglected to register with Teaching Council of Zambia.

The Teaching Council of Zambia has cumulatively registered more than One hundred and 90 thousand teachers with about one hundred and ten thousand working in Government schools, 30 thousand working in the private sector and 60 thousand qualified teaches yet

o be employed.
