Tanzanian based duo expected back in action on June 1

Tanzanian based duo of midfielder Clatous Chota Chama and striker Obrey Chirwa are expected to be back in action next month.

This follows President John Pombe Magufuli’s decision to give a green light for all sports activities to resume on June 1.

“I believe having active games will help in the fight against coronavirus and we have many different disciplines across. Reinstating games will definitely help us in this battle. We have different tiers in sports from the top to the lower tiers. I have decided to give the green light for the games to resume from June 1… people have to play,” Magufuli said at a press briefing on Thursday.

Chama’s Simba who are also the defending champions are on top of the table with 71 points after winning 23 matches, drawn two and lost three.

Chirwa and his Azam FC teammates who have also played 28 matches, are second with 54 points after winning 16 games, drawing six an lost as many.
