Swimming season to run into November

Chansa Kunda-The Zambia Swimming Union -ZASU- will start hosting competitions for its members in November this year.

ZASU says the competitions which mainly comprise the galas held among clubs will start in November despite the 2022/2023 swimming league having commenced on 1st August.

The Association says so far clubs have undertaken individual trainings and preparations towards the November competitions.

ZASU Executive Committee Member SAASA SHAMAMBO says the clubs have resumed their trainings as the season will come to an end in winter next year.

SHAMAMBO told ZNBC sports News in an interview that strides have also been made to ensure the sport has presence in all parts of the country.

He said lack of adequate infrastructure has affected the growth of the sport in the country.
