Eight placed Mufulira Wanderers will this afternoon take to the turf when they welcome fourth placed Zesco United at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira.

The legendary side who have managed to pick up five points from their six games played so far.

Mighty who recently sent their head coach Justin Chinama on administrative leave inciting insubordination by not playing the team made by the CEO of the club.

The club is in need of picking maximum points having only managed one win, two draws and three loses and just one point from dropping into the relegation zone.

Meanwhile Zesco United have played four games with two wins and two draws with Eight points.

They started with back to back wins over Green Buffaloes and Nakambala Leopards in week One and Two respectively.

Their last two games have seen them draw against log leaders Zanaco at home before recording another draw against Kabwe Warriors, which was a four-goal thriller ending 2-all.

Zesco’s strike force has been blunt in the past four games in all competitions but coach George Lwandamina will be hopeful by the fact that his strikers have scored five goals from the four matches played so far.

Kenyan striker, Jackson Jesse Were, who has since been summoned for international duty for the Harambee Stars has scored twice against Green Buffaloes and Nakambala Leopards, with other scorers been Ghanaian Rahim Osumanu, Nigerian forward Quadri Kola as well as the veteran Winston Kalengo.

The last time they two teams met on 2nd December in 2017, Zesco United ended up confirming Wanderers relegation to Division One at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium with a 4-2 win.

Zesco’s last visit at the Shinde Stadium was 2-1 win in the 2017 season in which they managed a double over Wanderers the same season.

Both teams have had a poor run of form and this match may well be an exciting encounter with all to play for as both teams have not picked up maximums in their recent Super League matches, Zesco have picked two points from their previous two matches, while Wanderers have picked only a point from their last four games against Lusaka Dynamos (0-0), Kitwe United (2-0 loss), Nakambala Leopards (1-0 loss) and Kabwe Warriors (0-1 loss).

A win for Zesco will take them to eleven points but will still remain rooted fourth while cutting the difference between them and log leaders Zanaco to three points with two more games to play.

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers have a chance in today’s match to leapfrog Green Buffaloes, Nakambala Leopards and Red Arrows into fifth place with any score margin to get to eight points and level with their visitors.

Keep your fingers crossed for an exciting encounter at Shinde Stadium, this is Bola Yapa Zed.
