Struggling Green Buffaloes fighting relegation

By Osward Hamanyuma | March 29, 2019

It has not been a smooth ride for the army sponsored side Green Buffaloes who have struggled to find a winning rhythm in league this season. With time running out, GBFC needs to find a formula which will help them picking up maximum points before it’s too late.

In the first round of this transition season Buffaloes has only managed to win one game and that is a week 3 match against Nakambala Leopards which ended 3-nil, drawn on 5 occasions and lost 3 times.

Lack of reliable goalscoring strikers is one of the problem which needs serious attention, Eddie Sinyangwe is Green Buffaloes top scorer with only 2 goals in 9 games, this shows how much the striking department is struggling to put the ball behind the net.

The main cause of this bad run of form is the changes which took place earlier this season when Bilton Musonda and his technical bench were fired, the changes destabilized the team and has affected the mental well-being of the players.

With 9 points behind the CAF Confederations spot it is nearly impossible for GBFC to find their way up the log looking at how Kabwe Warriors and leaders Zanaco are playing this season. The best remedy for Buffaloes is to start winning games for them to escape the jaws of relegation.
