Stop attacking Journalists – ZNBC Boss appeals to Politicians
ZNBC Director General Richard Mwanza has called on political parties cadres to desist from harassing journalists as they cover general election.
Mr. Mwanza says political parties should consider protecting journalists to promote equal and better coverage during and after the campaign period.
He says it is saddening that journalists continue being attacked by political supporters in every election.
Mr. Mwanza was speaking during the BBC media action training workshop at the Mass Media complex in Lusaka.
He said the BBC media action training workshop will help equip journalists ahead of the elections.
And BBC Media Action projects manager Boyd Chibale said ZNBC plays a pivotal role informing the general public on electoral matters.
Mr. Chibale added that the project aims at working with the national broadcaster to roll out programs aimed at enhancing election reporting.
