MINISTER of Health Dr Chitalu Chilufya says Government will construct two mini-hospitals at Kasapa, Kangwena and a health post at Kalilele in Mushundamo.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony to mark the commencement of the construction of the three facilities, Dr Chilufya reaffirmed government’s commitment to bring health facilities closer to the people.
‘’As government, we are determined to transform the health sector by brining health services closer to the people because we believe that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation,’’ Dr Chilufya said.
He said the construction of the mini-hospitals will further contribute to the reduction of maternal deaths as complicated cases that needed operations would be quickly be done at the facilities.
At the same event, the minister handed over an ambulance for the district for easy referral of complicated cases.
And senior chief Kalilele said the coming of the mini-hospitals will bring to an end the long distances the people in his chiefdom have been covering in seeking for health services.
