Staff to be beefed up at Attorney General’s Chambers

Justice Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE says government is concerned with the limited human resource at the Attorney General’s Chambers.

Mr. HAIMBE has disclosed that government is in the process of recruiting staff for the office to ensure timely review and approval of government contracts.

Speaking in Kasama on Sunday, Mr. HAIMBE said government will ensure full decentralisation of the services of the Auditor General’s office.

And Ministry of Justice Permanent Secretary in-Charge MWENYA BWALYA disclosed that the ministry is receiving 1550 contracts and 50 Memoranda of understanding –MOUs- for review and approval under the office of the Attorney General’s Chambers.

Earlier, Northern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary LEWIS MWAPE said he is concerned with the delayed approval of contracts under the Attorney General’s Chambers.
