SPEAKER DEMANDS MINISTRIAL STATEMENT ON KITWE RIOTS

Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini has asked Vice President Inonge Wina to appoint a Minister who will issue a Ministerial statement over riots which happened in Kitwe on Monday..
Dr Matibini says the ministerial statement is expected to be issued by next week Tuesday.
The Speaker said this when making a ruling in response to a point of order raised by PF Chama South MP Dickson Ng’andu.
Mr. Ng’andu asked why Home affairs Minister Steven Kampyongo is quiet when opposition UPND leader was on Sun FM on the Copperbelt announcing that ZAFFICO has been sold to the Chinese.
Mr. Ng’andu added that this was before the riots by Kitwe Residents and some ZAFFICO workers.
