Some private schools in some parts of the Copperbelt have suspended classes due to the confusion that has characterized the province.

Recently, sporadic protests have erupted in some towns on the Copperbelt following reports of alleged ritual killings in their communities.

According to a notice to parents from Bread of Life School in Kitwe and obtained by Phoenix News, children will not be learning today, Thursday and Friday due to insecurity in the community.

The notice also reads that every child should be brought and taken by his or her parent or guardian as a safety measure owing to the current happenings.

And one of the parents who spoke to Phoenix News on condition of anonymity has confirmed this development.

However, officers from the Chingola District Education Office who sought anonymity say classes in Chingola are operating normally stating that no school has suspended classes while efforts to get the Provincial Education Office failed.
