Socialist party condemn the move by Konkola Copper Mine to lay off over 700 workers

Socialist party Copperbelt province Spokesperson Joseph Kangwa has condemned the move by Konkola Copper Mine to lay off over 700 workers.

And Mr. Kangwa is worried that plans by Mopani Copper Mines Plc to shut the Mindolo North and Central shafts which will result in 600 direct employees and contractors losing their jobs by June is a source of concern.

Mr. Kangwa says it’s disappointing to see Zambians losing jobs on a daily basis due to lack of job security and lack of good leadership in the Country.

He has told Q-news in a telephone interview that this is an indication that the Patriotic Front leadership has totally failed to come up with a policy and direction on how multinational companies should be running the mines in the country.

Mr. Kangwa is encouraging Zambians to work with his party and change the capitalism system and replace it with socialism.
