The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced the appointment of retired soccer player Desmond Mngawa as Chipolopolo team manager.
The former Zanaco defender who is currently a soccer analyst takes over from Hastings Ndovi who was dropped by erstwhile coach Sven Vadenbroeck in October 2018. Gerald Sakala has acted in the position since.
Vandebroeck claimed Ndovi has problems with the use of modern technology.
Mngawa’s first assignment with the national team will be the dead rubber home match against Namibia to be played this month. The senior national team is currently in camp.
