So close, Yet so far

so-close,-yet-so-far

By a whisker, just millimeters, the margin Liverpool felll short of beating Manchester City to the English Premier league; the same margin that has seen Kabwe Warriors fall short on: ABSA Cup slot, CAF berth and league title; despite being on the cusp throughout the course of the season.

Football is indeed a game of thin margins. Kabwe Warriors were table toppers throughput the larger part of the season, enjoyed the invincible status; but it had to take one loss, by a single goal to Red Arrows to end their unbeaten run, on the final day of the season.

Kabwe Warriors faithfuls across the country must be going through crestfallen moments right now. I know a couple of them. Among them being Veteran broadcaster and owner of Zambezi FM in Livingstone, Mr Swithin Hangala; brother to veteran musician Smoke Hangala.

At the University Teaching hospital we have Dr Gabriel Pundu. A fine gentleman who has supported Kabwe Warriors through thick and thin.

We say take hearts gents.

However, the magnificent faithfuls have no reason to burry their heads in sand with shame. The Warriors have every reason to hold their heads high having gone from a mid table side to title contenders.

Thus, going forth Warriors have to build on from their incredible run of this season and cement their place at the top of Zambia’s flagship league football.
