Siliya Reported to ACC

Phiri want Siliya probed for beaching ACC Act No 3 of the laws of Zambia when she counselled headmen to use underhand methods to benefit Social Cash Transfer.

Lusaka (9-11-2020- concerned citizen has petitioned the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to to conduct an investigation and establish whether or not the conduct of Information Minister Dora Siliya in Sinda where she advised headmen to provide false information to the public officers managing tge social cash transfer and access the fund.
Nicholas Phiri told journalists on November 9th 2020 that the action by Siliya breached the provision of the Anti Corruption Commission for breach of the  ACC Act No 3 of the laws of Zambia when she told Sinda headmen to provide false information to the public officer if the are to become beneficiaries of the social cash transfer.
Phiri observed that the statite provided guidelines and procedures to people looking forward to access the fund.
He said the action by Siliya not borders on interfering in the operation of the officer from the Zambia Social welfare responsible for the social cash transfer but also encourage the local head men to use under hand methods to access the funds.
Phiri want the ACC to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure minister is found wanting, the full wrath of the law should be allowed to take its course.
Phiri further advised the executive not to sit on the way of justice bevause doing so would be incauraging abuse of public funds which he said was non the rise to continue.
He said in the recent past, the works of the  investigative wings was facing lots challenges from political figures during when discharging their works.
He added tha it was his desire is to see the information minister resign her position to pave way for investigations and if she does not then president Lungu should get her fired.
Phiri has since appealed to the investigative wings  not not be intimidated by politicians but discharge their duties professionally.
