Zambian FIFA referee Janny Sikazwe has left for Rabat, Morocco where he will attend a workshop for 2019 Africa Cup of Nations referees and assistant referees next week.

Sikazwe will be among 27 referees and 29 assistant referees invited by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to a week-long workshop which will run from April 28 to May 5.

The workshop is aimed at preparing the selected officials for the continental showpiece – which will take place in Egypt from 21 June to 19 July – in order to acquaint them with the latest trends, rules and developments of the game.

However, the Zambian referee will only arrive in Morocco on Monday, April 29 as the workshop’s opening day clashes with an engagement to officiate the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first leg between Zamalek (Egypt) and Étoile Sportive du Sahel (Tunisia) to be played at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Sunday evening.

Sikazwe is the only Zambian referee who has been picked by CAF for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
