Sichone: It’s unfortunate that Daka, Mwepu didn’t play

Chipolopolo Boys assistant coach Moses Sichone has said ‘injured’ England based duo Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu could have added value to the team.

And Sichone was also quick to heap praise on the players who started in the absence of the influential duo.

Zambia suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mali on Friday night in a friendy match in Bamako.

“It’s unfortunate that Patson [Daka] and [Enock] Mwepu did not play today and these are our senior players,” Sichone said in a post match interview.

“For sure, they could have made a change in the game but that’s the reason why we came with 23 players.

“I am not worried about the scoreline. I also want to compliment my team. They did well played well and according to the instructions.

Zambia and Mali will face off on Monday in another friendly.

Sichone took charge of the match in the absence of head coach Aljosa Asanovic.

Asanovic and FAZ have a stand off.
