Higher Education Permanent Secretary Kayula Siame says there is need for public institutions offering Science and Technology at Masters’ and PHD level to increase the number of students studying the courses.
Ms. Siame explains that this will help the country to have more researchers needed for the industries in the country.
She says the Ministry has embarked on a programme to visit public universities in an effort to check on the programmes being offered.
Ms. Siame stated that the Ministry has in the last three years given One hundred and 60 students scholarships in the field of Science, Innovation and Technology.
She was speaking when she visited the University of Zambia Great East Road campus.
And the Permanent Secretary has called on the private sector to come on board to support various science and technology courses in order to enhance research in the country.
