Siame, Kasinda and Hazemba join athletics residential camp
Three athletes have joined the athletics residential camp at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) ahead of the Southern African Region Championship slated for 17-19 June, 2016 to be staged at the National Heroes Stadium.
The athletes Sydney Siame (Zambia Police), Brian Kasinda (Zambia Police) and Hazemba Chidamba (Red Arrows) are among the 28 member team the Zambia Amateur Athletics Association (ZAAA) picked to represent the Country during the regional Championship, which will attract 14 Countries in the region.
The trio at the commencement of the training camp at the OYDC, were in Germany and Switzerland for the Open Athletics tournament.
And Siame, who will compete in the 100M/200M event says he is prepared for the event stating that he is hopeful that he will win a medal.
He adds that he will not let down the nation by not reaching the competition final.
Siame, is the 2014 Youth Olympic Gold medalist and will lead the Zambian athletes during the regional tournament.
Meanwhile, the Under-20 National Athletics Team Chief Coach Sydney Mushipi, says he expects good results from the 28 Zambian athletes.
Mushipi says all the athlete are ready and fit for the tournament stating that the training sessions at the OYDC are progressing well.
South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Swaziland and Mozambique are among the 14 Countries to participate in the tournament.
