Shangombo youth get driving skills under CDF

37 youths from Shangommbo District in Western Province who have been sponsored to train as drivers through Constituency Development Funds -CDF have appealed to Government to consider printing the high way code in local languages.

MUTELO SHWANA says this is because some youths do not understand English, while others do not have access to the Internet to download the publication.

The youths from Shangombo Constituency are being trained for three weeks at Zambian driving school in Lusaka

And Mr SHWANA who spoke on behalf of the youths has thanked Government for releasing funds driving lessons.

Mr SHWANA has told ZNBC news in an interview that the training will provide job opportunities for youths.

And, KASABI KABINDAMA another youth said his life will improve greatly.

Meanwhile, Zambian Driving School Director HOPE KUMALO said the training will expose youths to learn advanced features of roads in urban areas.

Mrs. KUMALO said the provision that the youths have been given through CDF is the first of its kind and that other constituencies should emulate the move.

She however appealed to Government to make available more high way code publications for those that do not have access to the Internet.

Meanwhile, Shangombo Member of Parliament MUBIKA MUBIKA said more than four hundred youths have been sponsored in various skills from the 2023 Constituency Development funds.

Mr MUBIKA said this is from a total of over 2 million Kwacha .
