SESTUZ BACKS REFORMS

By Robert Mwanza:A Teacher Union has appealed to teachers in the country to acquaint and embrace the new reforms introduced by government in the education sector.The Union says this is so because the reforms are meant to transform the sector for the better.Secondary School Teachers Union of Zambia-SESTUZ General Secretary Sitibekiso Wamuyuwa says reforms such as introducing assessments at grade four and doing away with external grade nine class is all meant to create competition and improve the quality of the country’s education.Mr. WAMUYUWA has told ZNBC News in an interview that teachers should be the first to understand and appreciate the changes taking place in the sector so that such can easily be passed on to the learners and the public.
