September 17 Mokopane accident victims put to rest

The eleven accident victims who died on 17th September 2018 in Mokopane, Limpopo province in South Africa have been put to rest.

The funeral processions of the eleven victims were preceded by church services held concurrently in Lusaka, Ndola, Kitwe, Mufulira and Chingola.

vlcsnap-8531-11-27-13h36m13s357In Lusaka, Acting President Inonge Wina led hundreds of mourners in paying their last respects to three women who died in the accident, namely Gift Milambo,54, Elizabeth Manengu ,48, and Rosemary Nkhoma 48.

During a church service held at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus, Ms Wina said government is committed to supporting its people not only in times of joy, but also in times of sorrow as can be seen from the support rendered to the bereaved families.

Mrs. Wina also commended South African President Cyril Ramphosa for the support rendered during this trying moment.

Delivering the homily, Father Chibeza Zulu described the departed where gallant women who died while delivering a service to their families and the country.

And Lusaka Diocese Vicar general Father Solomon Tembo commended government for taking over the funerals of the deceased.
The three Lusaka based accident victims have since been put to rest at Lusaka’s Leopards Hill memorial park.
