SEPARATE POLITICS FROM CORRUPTION FIGHT-ECL

President Edgar Lungu has noted with dismay how the fight against corruption has been politicized in Zambia.
President Lungu says politicians have used the fight against corruption as a vehicle to gain political mileage and dislodge others from office.
The Head of State said this in Lusaka when Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch of South Africa Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi paid a courtesy call on him at State House.
President Lungu said corruption is a big evil and the fight should not be left to politicians alone.
And President Lungu said Prince Buthelezi’s Visit will rekindle the history of the Ngoni and Zulu people in the two countries.
President Lungu also hailed the role traditional leaders play in society and that there is need to redefine their part in politics.
And Prince Buthelezi said he is impressed by President Lungu’s decision to institute a National Day of Prayer for Zambia.
He also applauded the Head of State for appointing Zambia’s First female Vice president.
Prince Buthelezi said President Lungu should be commended for the respect he accords the institutions of traditional leadership and that traditional social structures were designed to ensure good governance and social justice.
The Prince once served as South Africa’s Minister of Home Affairs and is president of the Inkatha Freedom Party.
He was in the company of two Mayors Arthur Ntuli and Petros Ngubane.
