Sell excess produce,FRA prods farmers

Ruth Chayinda-Food Reserve Agency -FRA- has encouraged farmers countrywide to only sell their excess produce after putting aside adequate varieties of food for domestic use.

FRA Public Relations Coordinator JOHN CHIPANDWE says doing so will enable the country to ensure there is food security which begins at household level.

Mr. CHIPANDWE says the Agency is already on the market buying non-genetically modified white maize, paddy rice and soya beans as was announced recently.

He also advised farmers who are willing to sell their produce to deliver them to any nearest FRA satellite depot countrywide .

Mr CHIPANDWE said in a statement released to ZNBC News said farmers should also ensure that they clean the crops from their homesteads so as to prevent congestion and lessen on the time they will spend at the depot.
