SAMFYA TO GET NEW MARKET – ECL

President Edgar Lungu says government will this year start building a brand-new modern Market for traders in Samfya District.

President Lungu has since directed the local leadership to identify land were the new market will be built.

He says government has already build new markets in Itezhi-Tezhi, Lusaka, Kitwe and other districts.

President Lungu says once the new market is complete those who want to remain at the old markets will not be forced to move.

The Head of State said this when he visited a market in Samfya District of Luapula Province.

And President Lungu said Zambians should continue following the health guidelines despite the number of Covid cases coming down further advising the traders and other stakeholders to work together to fight the pandemic.

And Market Chairperson John Kasonde said President Lungu has been supporting traders for years by providing startup capitals.

He said people in Samfya are happy with the construction of roads, water treatment plant and 19 new clinics in the area.
