Saileti happy with players effort, Talks surviving relegation

Nakambala Leopards continued their search for 3 points after they conceded a late goal to draw with the Pensioners. The Zambia Sugar sponsored side failed to collect maximum points at home against second-placed Napsa Stars in a Week 11 encounter played at Nakambala Stadium In Mazabuka on Saturday.
Speaking to the ZamFoot Crew after the match Head Coach Zeddy Saileti acknowledged his Boys’ efforts despite feeling they could have won.
“Today the boys applied themselves very well because we are coming from three losses and we should have won this game because we controlled the game from the word go and we got an early goal,” he said.
“We had a lot of chances as compared to Napsa Stars but we failed to score the second goal and Unfortunately they got a penalty in the second half and scored to level matters,” he added.
Nakambala Leopards defender George Mutanda was Judged to have handled the ball in the 18 Yard box and Napsa Stars were handed a penalty in the 81st minute, Bornwell Mwape stepped up and slotted the ball in the net beating Samson Mumba in the Nakambala Leopards goal.
Commenting on the visitors’ goal, Saileti pointed out that lack of concentration towards the end is what led to the goal.
” Yes, of course, I think it was loss of concentration because if you look at the game the intensity was too high and some of the players were tiring towards the end and lost concentration, I think we should have done better but a penalty is something you can’t deny and they capitalized from it.”
Nakambala Leopards have been in the relegation zone for 2 weeks now and the win by Power Dynamos away at Lumwana means they continue residing in the relegation zone with 2 points less than Lumwana Radiants but Saileti is still confident that his team will pull through.
“We still have a chance to survive relegation. We just need to push ourselves and get positive results,” he said.
Tanzanian Striker Elias Maguri Scored for Nakambala Leopards after benefiting from a Junior Zulu pass. The striker now has 5 goals to his name for Nakambala Leopards.
With his contract running out In December, the Failure to collect points at home against Napsa will add more pressure on the Head Coach and his Assistant Linos Makwaza.
