Rufunsa Gets K33 Million for Road Maintenance

The National Road Fund Agency through the Ministry of Local Government has released K 33.9 Million for periodic maintenance and rehabilitation of Munyeta road, 23kilometres from the Great East (T4) Road, in Rufunsa District.

And the contract has been awarded to ABC Global Works Limited who are expected to complete the works within 12 months.

Besides the road formation, works include graveling and drainage structures. Drainage works will include construction of three box culverts at Mwapula, Munyeta and Musamba-Ngoma crossing points.

Rufunsa Town Council Chairperson Bartholomew Kalambalala is excited at the prospects of repairing the road that has been a nightmare for the people of Munyeta in Kabuyu Ward.

Kalambalala has since commanded government for considering Rufunsa Town Councils’ application to fund the project.
