RTSA INSTALLS SPEED CAMERA ON SEVEN LUSAKA ROADS

The Road Transport and Safety Agency -RTSA – has rolled out Speed Cameras on seven of the 31 targeted roads in Lusaka.
Minister of transport and Communication Brian Mushimba says the installation of the Speed Cameras on the remaining roads will be done by the end of the year.
Mr. Mushimba says RTSA will also roll out the cameras to Livingstone, Kitwe and Ndola next year.
He told ZNBC News that government is impressed with a drastic reduction in the number of road accidents, since the speed cameras were mounted in accident prone areas in Lusaka.
Mr. Mushimba adds that government hopes to do away with traffic police officers on the roads as they will be replaced with speed cameras.
