Fashion Sakala was also denied by the woodwork after neatly sweeping the ball past Malawian goalkeeper Brighton Munthali. Malawi captain Chimwemwe Idana created some opportunities but they failed to convert them.

When Zambia goes through they will meet the winner between Congo and Burundi who will play their game on Tuesday 26th March in Congo. The first leg in Burundi ended nil-nil.
