The Zambia U23 will this afternoon be the main focus as they take on the Junior Flames of Malawi in a return match of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifer match at Heroes stadium.
The Junior Chipolopolo are expected to finish off the job they started at Kamuzu Banda stadium in Blantyre and progress to the next round of the qualifiers with a very convincing scoreline.
Fashion Sakala scored the only goal when he converted Lameck Banda’s corner kick with a well placed header into the far left corner leaving the goalkeeper Munthali planted in his s position. The boys had numerous chances to kill off Malawi when Patson Daka’s attempt was cleared on the line.
Fashion Sakala was also denied by the woodwork after neatly sweeping the ball past Malawian goalkeeper Brighton Munthali. Malawi captain Chimwemwe Idana created some opportunities but they failed to convert them.
When Zambia goes through they will meet the winner between Congo and Burundi who will play their game on Tuesday 26th March in Congo. The first leg in Burundi ended nil-nil.
