Riots Erupt Over Alleged Ritual Killings In Chingola

Residents of Chingola’s Chiwempala have rioted following rumors that a named businessman within the area was involved in killings that recently characterized the town.

The riots started this morning following the alleged ritual killings which led to residents looting shops belonging to the said businessman.

The angry residents blocked key roads in the area, disrupting businesses as most shop owners closed their shops in fear of being looted by the angry residents.

And Copperbelt Deputy Police Commissioner Wamunyima Wamunyima confirmed the development to Phoenix News but could however not give enough details on the matter as police where yet to understand what had triggered the riots.

Mr. Wamunyima assured the aggrieved residents that police are on the ground to ensure calm is brought to the area.
