Revenge In The Air For ZESCO United

There is no feeling in football like facing a team that recently eliminated you from a competition.

For some clubs it sends them into fear of losing again while for other clubs it’s a chance to prove that the previous elimination was just a slip.

That;s why when who Zesco United’s opponents in the 2019/2020 Caf Champions League were announced the major talking points have been Premiero De Agosto and TP Mazembe who the Ndola based Giants met in the last two editions of the competition.

Zesco United and Premiero De Agosto were in GROUP D of the 2018 edition and a 0-0 draw at home followed by a 2-1 loss away in Angola meant Zega were eliminated in the group stage while a season later in the Final Round it was the Congolese Giants TP Mazembe who showed Zesco United the door after Mazembe beat them 1-0 in Lubumbashi before holding out to a 1-1 draw in Ndola.

Throw in the winner between Zamalek and Generation Foot and it makes an interesting group.

Zesco will begin their campaign away to Premiero De Agoisto on the weekend of the 29th-30th of November 2019 before hosting TP Mazembe 6 days later followed by a home match against the winners between Zamalek/Generation Foot on the 27th-28th of December 2019.

The second half of the Group stage will be played in 2020 with Zesco away to Zamalek/Generation Foot on the weekend of the 14th-15th of February 2020 followed by a home match against Premiero De Agosto on the weekend of the 21st-22nd of February 2020 before ending their campaign in Lubumbashi with a game against TP Mazembe on the weekend of the 6th-7th of March, 2020.

It will be an interesting campaign.
