Sensational Zanaco midfield ace Tafadzwa Rusike proposed a move to Zesco United has hit a snag this follows Zesco United failure to quickly complete the deal the ZamFoot Crew understands.

The 30-year Zimbabwean midfielder was keen on a move away from Sunset Stadium despite having a running contract with the bankers. The ZamFoot Crew understands Rusike handed in a transfer request which Zanaco reluctantly accepted.

Zesco United wrote to Zanaco who responded to their letter quoting their price for their most prized possession. The bankers are believed to have asked for a figure close $65 000.

A ZamFoot insider at Zesco United has revealed that the Ndola giants are yet to respond to Zanaco.

“Zanaco wrote to us and they actually responded positively to our letter but management is yet to get back to them and that’s why you have seen Rusike is still at Zanaco and has traveled for Preseason in Chipata,” the source said.

Rusike was not on the Zanaco initial list for Continental football and his jersey number eight was handed to Kiala Lassa as Zanaco anticipated the move being finalized much early.

Should Zesco fail to complete the deal before the CAF late registration deadline which closes on 31st July Zanaco will have to register the former Ajax Cape Town midfielder with a different jersey number.

The first phase of the CAF registration closed on 10th July. From 11th to 20th July the late registration will attract a fee of $250 per player and 21st to 31st it will attract a fine of $500.

Rusike is currently in Chipata with Zanaco for a ten-day training camp.
